Leadership in Crisis: The Alarming Record of Will Styles at HMP Parc

Will Styles has now been Director of HMP Parc for just over a year—and the results are devastating. After the controversial tenure of Heather Whitehead, many hoped for a turnaround. Instead, things have spiraled further into chaos.

Styles arrived with bold promises to Reform HMP Parc. But behind the rhetoric lies a grim reality. Under his leadership, HMP Parc has become a symbol of institutional failure:

– ⚠️ Nine inmate deaths—a tragic toll that demands urgent answers
– 🧨 Staff plotting attacks on prisoners—a shocking breach of duty
– 💊 A drug crisis spiraling out of control, fueling violence and despair
– 🚨 Reports of sexual assaults on inmates, with survivors left vulnerable
– 👮‍♂️ Staff arrested for drug offenses, assault, and misconduct
– 📉 An Inspectorate report citing a “serious decline in standards”
– 🔥 Widespread violence, zero accountability, and broken systems

This isn’t just mismanagement—it’s negligence. And Styles must own it.

He failed at HMP Five Wells. He’s failing here. The Welsh Affairs Committee has already raised alarm over excessive force by officers at Parc. Meanwhile, the Inspectorate paints a bleak picture: prisoners locked up for 21 hours a day, rampant drug access, and a regime that breeds frustration and violence.

Styles talks a big game. But the facts speak louder.

This is not leadership. It’s a dereliction of duty. And the consequences are borne by the most vulnerable—those incarcerated, their families, and the staff trying to hold the line in a broken system.

Will Styles? He couldn’t run a bath, let alone a prison.

Predator Awareness and HMP Prisons Justice Group are demanding urgent action. We are calling for the immediate resignation of Will Styles and for G4S to be stripped of its contract without delay. After year’s of chaos, neglect, and unanswered deaths under several directors at HMP Parc, campaigners say enough is enough.

The message is clear: accountability starts at the top—and it starts now.
