A trial date has now been set for former England rugby league international Danika Priim, who denies a charge of sexual assault.

The 40-year-old appeared at Leeds Crown Court, where it was confirmed that her trial will begin on 16 November 2026. The hearing is expected to last three days.

Priim is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at Horsforth Cricket Club on 22 July 2022. She denies the allegation.

During the brief court appearance, Priim entered a not guilty plea. She was granted bail ahead of the trial and left court without commenting to reporters.

Priim previously played as a prop for Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos, and represented England at the 2017 Women’s Rugby League World Cup. She retired from professional rugby league in 2021.

Since stepping away from the sport, she has worked as a television pundit, appearing on coverage for Sky Sports and the BBC.

With the trial now scheduled for November 2026, the case will return to Leeds Crown Court for a full hearing where evidence will be presented before a jury.

Priim remains on bail until the trial date. As proceedings are ongoing, no further details about the alleged incident have been disclosed in court.

She denies the charge.
