Two Labour councillors were among four individuals who appeared in court today in connection with an alleged stabbing incident in Cradley Heath.
Daniel Millard and Claire Mayo attended the hearing alongside co-defendants Kelsea Scott and Mitchel Weston. The case relates to an incident in Blackheath, although full details of the allegations have not yet been outlined in court.
Millard faces charges of assault, affray, and aiding an affray. Mayo faces two counts of assault and two counts of affray.
At a previous hearing at Dudley Magistrates’ Court, both councillors had entered not guilty pleas. However, they were required to enter pleas again at Crown Court.
During today’s proceedings, Scott and Weston both entered not guilty pleas.
Councillors Mayo and Millard did not enter pleas at this stage after their barrister informed the court he no longer felt it was appropriate to represent both defendants. As a result, their pleas were postponed.
Only Mayo and Millard are required to appear at the next hearing on 14 April 2026.
A provisional trial date has been set, with a 10-day hearing scheduled to begin on 23 July 2029.
The case remains ongoing.
