Lucy Lowe

Age: 16
Tragically Lost: Alongside her mother, Eileen Linda, her disabled sister, Sarah, and her unborn child.
Tribute:
Lucy Lowe lost her life at the age of 16 when a known groomer, Azhar Ali Mehmood, who had exploited Lucy since she was 14, set fire to her family home in Telford. The tragedy claimed the lives of Lucy, her mother Eileen Linda, her disabled sister Sarah, and her unborn child.
Their deaths could have been prevented if authorities had conducted proper investigations into the grooming gangs that targeted Lucy.
Lucy’s story stands as a stark reminder of systemic failings and the devastating consequences they bring.

Charlene Downes

Age: 14
Tragically Lost: Blackpool, 1st November 2003

Charlene Downes went missing in Blackpool on 1st November 2003 at the age of 14. She was known to frequent areas near takeaways on Abingdon Street, where she was exploited by known groomers.
Despite being known to key services such as social services and the police, systemic failures meant that Charlene did not receive the protection she needed.
Charlene’s body has never been found, but her memory lives on as a heartbreaking reminder of preventable loss. Her story highlights the critical need for accountability and justice.

Paige Chivers

Age: 15
Tragically Lost: Blackpool, 23rd August 2007

Paige Chivers left home on 23rd August 2007 and was tragically murdered by Robert Ewing, a man 37 years her senior who had sexually groomed her.
Her murderer later died in prison, but Paige’s body has never been found.
This devastating case highlights significant failings by authorities in protecting a vulnerable teenager and has raised serious questions about errors made by Lancashire Police.

Vicky Round

Tragically Lost: Telford, 2009

Vicky Round’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 20. Groomed by gang members in Telford from the age of 11, Vicky was forced into taking crack cocaine at just 12 years old and heroin by the age of 14. Years of abuse and exploitation took a devastating toll on her life, and she sadly passed away in 2009 in a drugs-related incident.
Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the horrific impact grooming gangs have on their victims and the urgent need for accountability and systemic change.

Laura Wilson

Tragically Lost: Rotherham, October 2010

Laura Wilson had been groomed from the age of 11 by multiple members of grooming gangs in Rotherham. At just 17, her life was brutally taken when she was stabbed and thrown into a canal, left to die. Ashtiaq Asghar pleaded guilty to her murder in October 2010.
Laura’s death was preventable. Social workers were aware of the risks she faced from grooming gangs for six years but failed to act, leaving her vulnerable to unimaginable harm.

Becky Watson

Tragically Lost: Telford, March 2002

Becky Watson suffered two years of unimaginable sexual abuse at the hands of a grooming gang, which began when she was only 11 years old. In March 2002, at the age of 13, Becky tragically lost her life after falling from the bonnet of a car near her youth club. The driver, Ahmed Nawaz, claimed the incident was a “prank” gone tragically wrong.

Victoria Agoglia

Holly Wells & Jessica Chapman

Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were just 10 years old when their lives were tragically taken on 4th August 2002. They were kidnapped and murdered by their school caretaker, Ian Huntley.
Their loss shocked the nation and serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the need to protect children from harm.

Kriss Donald

Age: 15
Tragically Lost: Glasgow, 2004
Tribute:
Kriss Donald was abducted from the streets of Glasgow in a brutal and racially motivated attack by a group of men.
Driven over 200 miles to Dundee and back, Kriss was tortured during the journey as his abductors attempted to find a location to hold him but failed.
Upon returning to Glasgow, Kriss was stabbed 13 times, drenched in petrol, and set on fire, leaving him to die at the Clyde Walkway near Celtic’s training ground. His murder was a shocking and senseless act of hatred.
Daanish Zahid, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid, and Mohammed Faisal Mustaq were later convicted of racially motivated murder.

Semina Halliwell

Age: 12

Bebe King, Elsie & Alice

Tragically Lost: Southport

Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar were tragically killed in a horrific knife attack in Merseyside.
The young girls, aged 6, 7, and 9, were attending a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop when their lives were taken by Axel Rudakubana in an unthinkable act of violence.
Their loss has left an indelible mark on their families, friends, and the community. These three young angels will forever be remembered for the light they brought to those around them.

Sasha Marsden

Age: 16
Tragically Lost: Blackpool, 31st January 2013

Sasha Marsden was brutally murdered in Blackpool on 31st January 2013, aged just 16. She was lured to her death by David Minto, who deceived her with the false promise of a job interview at his girlfriend’s hotel.
Once inside, Minto sexually assaulted Sasha before stabbing her 58 times and attempting to cover his crime by setting her body on fire.
He was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 35 years.
Sasha’s tragic death highlights the dangers that predators pose and the devastating impact of violent crime. Her story is a painful reminder of why justice must always be pursued.

Harvey Willgoose

Age: 15
Tragically Lost: 21st February 2025

Alisa Tonner

Alisa was a much loved respected member of the Predator Awareness team. She was with us from day one and helped shaped our organisation. To say she will be missed is an understatement.
