In a move that has sparked outrage on social media, South Wales Police arrested Kevin Bowen, a member of Predator Awareness and HMP Prisons Justice Group, early this morning at his mother’s home. The arrest comes just days after Kevin publicly shared his account of being sexually assaulted by a G4S prison officer—an allegation he backed with what he describes as “clear and compelling evidence.”
Kevin’s interview last week, which circulated widely across social media, also detailed institutional failures and alleged cover-ups within the prison system. His arrest, according to Predator Awareness, is not only unjust but a clear attempt to silence victims who dare to speak out.
“This is retaliation, plain and simple,” said Tom Blewitt founder of Predator Awareness. “Kevin bravely came forward with evidence of abuse. Now he’s been dragged from his home in what looks like a coordinated effort to intimidate and suppress then truth.”
The group, known for confronting sexual predators and exposing systemic negligence, has faced increasing scrutiny from law enforcement. Zack Griffiths was arrested earlier this year under similarly vague circumstances. South Wales Police have yet to release a formal statement detailing the charges against Kevin, further fueling speculation that the arrest is politically motivated. Zack Griffiths founder of HMP Prisons Justice Group and Co-Founder of Predator Awareness said “They attacked our boys, we beleive they may have attempted to kill me in our opinion and now they take a swipe at Kevin — who’s next?”
Predator Awareness have warned that such actions set a dangerous precedent. “When survivors are punished for speaking out, it sends a message to every victim: stay silent or face consequences,” said Tom Blewitt. “This isn’t just about Kevin. It’s about every person who’s ever feared coming forward.”
Predator Awareness has vowed to stand by Kevin and demand his immediate release. “We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. Kevin deserves justice—not handcuffs.”
Victims deserve to be heard. Predator Awareness and HMP Prisons Justice Group will not back down.
